Nile Jade was born in 1945 and started to paint only when she was 27 years old. Nile Jade is very much a self-taught artist. Although her main academic discipline was in Fashion Design, her passion and talent lies in painting.

The technique that Jade employs is very unique and unusual. She paints on wood using brushes and knife which produces a special kind of
"copper-tooling" textured effect.
